Introduction & Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Vorteil Trading Group LLC, a Utah limited liability company operating as a DBA of Roney Real Estate LLC (“Vorteil,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website (vorteiltrading.com), purchase a membership, use our tools, subscribe to alerts, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”).
This Policy applies to all individuals who interact with our Services, including website visitors, registered members, and prospective customers. It does not apply to information collected by third parties (such as brokers, payment processors, or social platforms) operating their own websites or services, even when linked from our website. Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), and any optional profile information you provide.
- Billing information: name, billing address, and the last four digits of your payment card. Full card numbers are processed and stored by Stripe and never reach Vorteil's servers.
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form, support emails, or other communication channels.
- Trading-tool inputs: any data you enter into our tools, such as trade entries in the Trade Journal, market plans in the Market-Open Plan template, watchlist symbols, account balance figures for the Risk Calculator, and similar inputs.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and referring URL.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent on the site, click patterns, and similar analytics.
- Authentication data: login timestamps, session tokens, and security-related metadata (used for fraud prevention and account sharing detection).
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 8.
Information from third parties
- From Stripe: payment confirmation, transaction IDs, fraud risk scores, and the country/postal-code region associated with your card. We do not receive your full card number.
- From Broker Partners (if applicable): aggregated, anonymized referral statistics indicating that a user referred from Vorteil opened a funded account, for the purpose of calculating our affiliate compensation. We do not receive your individual broker account number, balance, trades, or other personal account details. See Section 6.
How We Collect Information
We collect information in the following ways:
- Directly from you when you create an account, complete a purchase, fill out our contact form, enter data into our tools, or contact us;
- Automatically through your interaction with our website, member portal, and tools, including via cookies and analytics;
- From third-party services we use to operate our business (such as Stripe for payments) or that you choose to interact with through our links (such as Broker Partners).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide our Services: create and manage your account, deliver course content, run the tools and alerts you subscribe to, process your transactions, and respond to your support requests.
- To process payments: bill you for tier purchases and tools subscriptions, manage failed payments, and handle subscription renewals.
- To send transactional communications: order confirmations, receipts, password resets, account notifications, billing alerts, and changes to these policies.
- To send marketing communications (only with your consent): newsletters, new content notifications, promotional offers. You can opt out at any time (see Section 7).
- To improve our Services: analyze usage patterns to understand which features are helpful, identify bugs, and prioritize improvements. Where possible, we use aggregated or anonymized data for this purpose.
- To enforce our Terms: detect and prevent account sharing, fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- To comply with legal obligations: tax reporting, anti-money-laundering requirements, responses to lawful subpoenas or court orders, and other regulatory or legal requirements.
Service Providers & Subprocessors
We rely on the following third-party service providers to operate our business. Each provider receives only the information necessary to perform its function and is contractually required to handle that information appropriately.
| Provider | Purpose | Information Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Kajabi | Website hosting, course delivery, member portal, email marketing | Account info, course progress, email engagement |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Name, billing address, full card data (handled directly by Stripe, never reaches Vorteil) |
| Supabase | Database for trade journal, market plans, watchlists, and tool data sync | Account email, hashed password, tool data you enter |
| Netlify | Hosting for tools and scanner | IP address, request logs (standard web hosting telemetry) |
| Cloudflare | DNS, CDN, security (via Namecheap) | IP address, request logs, security telemetry |
| Web3Forms | Contact form processing | Name, email, subject, message (whatever you submit via the form) |
| Market data providers | Stock quotes and news data for the scanner | No personal data; query parameters only (e.g., ticker symbols) |
We may also share information when:
- Required by law: in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful requests from government authorities;
- To protect rights and safety: when necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our Terms, or protect our rights, property, or the safety of Subscribers or the public;
- In a business transfer: in the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to that entity's commitment to honor this Privacy Policy.
Broker Referral Tracking
If you click a link or use a code from Vorteil to open an account with one of our Broker Partners, you may be tracked by the Broker Partner's affiliate system. This typically uses a referral parameter in the URL, a tracking cookie set by the Broker Partner, or a unique promo code.
The Broker Partner may inform Vorteil that you signed up through our referral so that Vorteil can be paid the agreed compensation. This notification typically consists of: a referral confirmation, the date you opened your account, and (for some compensation models) summary statistics about your trading activity needed to calculate revenue share. Vorteil does not receive your specific account balance, individual trades, holdings, or other detailed account information from Broker Partners.
Once you open a brokerage account, your relationship with that Broker Partner is governed by the broker's own privacy policy and account agreement. We have no control over how the broker collects, uses, or shares your information.
You can avoid affiliate tracking by visiting the broker's website directly without clicking our referral link.
Marketing Communications
If you opt in to receive marketing communications from Vorteil — for example, by subscribing to our newsletter or checking a marketing-consent box during checkout — we may send you periodic emails about new content, features, promotions, or trading-education topics we think you'll find useful.
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing us at support. Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect your receipt of transactional emails (receipts, account notifications, password resets, etc.), which are necessary for us to provide our Services.
Cookies & Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons, pixels, and local storage) to operate and improve our Services. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser.
Types of cookies we use
- Essential cookies: required for the website and member portal to function (e.g., login sessions, shopping cart, security). These cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
- Functional cookies: remember your preferences (e.g., timezone, default settings in tools).
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. We may use first-party analytics through Kajabi and tools-level analytics through Netlify.
Your control: Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of our Services may not function properly — in particular, the member login system requires session cookies to work.
Do Not Track: Our website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals because no industry standard for these signals has been finalized. We will update this section if that changes.
Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information we hold against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. These safeguards include:
- Encryption in transit: all data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS);
- Encryption at rest: sensitive data stored by our service providers (Stripe, Supabase, Kajabi) is encrypted at rest under their respective security frameworks;
- Hashed passwords: passwords are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes, never in plain text;
- Row-level security: our trade-journal database uses row-level security policies so that each user can access only their own data;
- Limited access: only authorized personnel with a legitimate business need can access personal information.
No system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our Services and for the legitimate business purposes described in this Policy, including:
- Active accounts: we retain your account information for as long as your account is active;
- Closed accounts: after account termination, we retain core account information (name, email, transaction history) for up to seven (7) years to comply with tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping requirements;
- Trade journal data: data you enter into the Trade Journal and other tools remains in your account while active. Upon account closure, you may request deletion (see Section 11);
- Marketing data: if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we retain a minimal record (your email address with an “unsubscribed” flag) solely to honor your unsubscribe preference;
- Web logs and analytics: typically retained for 12 to 24 months and then deleted or anonymized.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Deletion: request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements (see Section 10);
- Portability: request a machine-readable copy of certain information you have provided;
- Opt-out of marketing: as described in Section 7;
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on your consent to process information, you may withdraw it at any time (this will not affect processing already conducted).
To exercise these rights, please email us at support. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days). We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the business purpose for collection, and the third parties with whom we share it;
- Right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions;
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. Vorteil does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by the CCPA without notice;
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. We will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised your rights.
To exercise your California rights, email support. We will verify your request before responding.
EU/UK/EEA Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and equivalent laws give you specific rights regarding your personal information.
Legal basis for processing. We process personal information on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): processing necessary to deliver the Services you have purchased;
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): operating our business, preventing fraud, improving our Services, and similar purposes;
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): for marketing communications and any optional cookies, where required;
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and response to lawful requests.
Your GDPR rights include access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
International transfers. Vorteil is based in the United States, and your personal information may be processed in the U.S. by our service providers. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect personal information transferred outside the EU/UK/EEA.
To exercise your GDPR rights, email support. We will respond within 30 days as required by law.
Children's Privacy
Vorteil's Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a person under 18, please contact us at support.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our Services, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify active Subscribers by email or through a prominent notice on the website.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of our Services after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
